Astana, June 17, 2026 — The RSE “Information and Analytical Center for Environmental Protection” (IACEP) under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan announces the launch of EcoAgent, an intelligent environmental analytics system. The project is aimed at transforming state environmental control processes and optimizing the collection and analysis of environmental data.
Modern environmental monitoring involves processing massive volumes of unstructured data, including industrial environmental monitoring reports, automated monitoring system data, permitting documentation, and inspection results. Manual analysis of such information inevitably increases the risks associated with human error. The development of the EcoAgent platform became a natural step toward the digitalization of environmental protection activities.
EcoAgent is a comprehensive analytical platform offering:
• Automated Cross-Analysis: Intelligent integration of data from multiple sources, including the National Data Bank (NDB), e-License, enterprise systems, ERAP, and ERSOR. The system instantly compares actual emission indicators with established limits.
• AI-Powered Monitoring: The artificial intelligence module analyzes automated monitoring system data in real time, detecting regulatory exceedances without inspector involvement.
• Risk Management: A proactive environmental risk assessment system. AI assigns risk ratings to enterprises, enabling inspectors of the Committee for Environmental Regulation and Control to focus on the most critical facilities.
• Visualization and Reporting: An interactive environmental map provides a comprehensive overview of the situation across regions, while the automated processing of industrial environmental monitoring reports reduces document processing time from several days to just minutes.
The system is powered by advanced computing infrastructure — the project has been successfully deployed on the Alem.Cloud supercomputer of JSC “NIT” using 8 GPUs, ensuring exceptional processing speed and scalability.
At the current stage, the system is undergoing pilot testing at five of the country’s largest industrial enterprises, including Tengizchevroil (TCO), Kazzinc, Aluminium of Kazakhstan, ANPZ, and Kazakhmys Smelting. The platform already supports 21 active accounts for employees of the Committee for Environmental Regulation and Control.
