On 4–5 June 2026, the interregional forum «Clean Region – Clean Area», dedicated to World Environment Day, was held in Aktau, Mangystau region. The event was organized by the Department of natural resources and environmental management of the Mangystau region.
The forum brought together representatives of subordinate organizations of the Ministry of ecology and natural resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including JSC «Zhasyl Damu» and the RSE on the REM «Information and analytical center for environmental protection», as well as representatives of non-governmental organizations, mass media, the expert community, environmental volunteer movements, and delegations from the Aktobe, Atyrau, and West Kazakhstan regions.

As part of the forum, three thematic sessions were organized: «Environmental сulture: education, upbringing and action», «Green technologies as the foundation of sustainable development», and «Eco-volunteer movements: shared responsibility of society and nature». The discussions focused on environmental education, the implementation of green technologies, and the development of environmental volunteering.

During the session «Environmental сulture: education, upbringing and action», Iskakova Danazhan Serikovna, acting head of the department for environmental information analysis and preparation of the National report on the state of the environment and the use of natural resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the RSE on the REM «Information and analytical center for environmental protection» under the MENR of the Republic of Kazakhstan, delivered a presentation on the role of environmental information in shaping environmental culture within society.
As part of the forum program, participants visited one of the most renowned natural landmarks of the Mangystau region — the Bozzhyra tract, where they took part in an eco-tour aimed at promoting responsible environmental behavior, preserving natural heritage, and fostering the development of ecotourism.
