Industry Seminar for Energy Sector Employees Held in Almaty

A specialized training seminar titled
“Environmental Control and Management System. The Environmental Code and Its Enforcement Practice” was held in Almaty. The event was organized by the RSE on the Right of Economic Management “Information and Analytical Center for Environmental Protection” under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The seminar was specifically designed for employees of Almaty Power Stations (ALPP) and its structural divisions, which allowed the program to be tailored to the real tasks and challenges of the energy sector.

Representatives of key production and профиль (core) divisions of the company took part in the seminar, including:

• Environmental Protection Department of ALPP;
• Combined Heat and Power Plants No. 1, 2 and 3;
• Kapshagay Hydropower Plant;
• Cascade of Hydropower Plants;
• Production and Repair Enterprise “Energoremont”;
• Center for Technology Training and Implementation.

The substantive part of the seminar focused on the practical application of environmental legislation. Participants were provided with detailed guidance on procedures for obtaining environmental permits, conducting Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), organizing industrial environmental monitoring, as well as key aspects of enforcing the Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Particular attention was given to the analysis of typical violations and risks faced by enterprises, as well as to approaches for their prevention. The practice-oriented format of the seminar enabled participants to examine real-life cases in detail and receive expert recommendations applicable to their day-to-day operations.

Such industry-focused events contribute to a unified understanding of environmental regulatory requirements, enhance professional competencies, and strengthen environmental responsibility within the energy sector.
